Warning It Will Move You…

Don’t Give Up. You Can Feel Good Again.

Here is an update on a past broadcast, one where I shared a moving true story but listed the author as unknown. Make sure you watch the video at the bottom of this page-warning it will move you.

My editor was able to track down the author, Bob Perks. It is a moving, true story, one that will leave you with a sense that faith conquers all. I’ve included a video of the story (see bottom of the page) and know it will move you as it moved me.

Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.

Battling fibromyalgia, the pain, fatigue, low moods, weight gain, insomnia, can be a real test of one’s willpower. It’s hard to be positive, even when we feel our best, but it’s almost impossible to be upbeat when we feel bad. And unfortunately with fibro more days are bad than good.

It’s easy to understand why someone with fibro could become discouraged, bitter, and hopeless. The chronic symptoms of fibro could test the strongest optimist.

However, the old adage about “if you want to feel better, find someone less well off than you,” still rings true. I know, I KNOW, I’ve been working with fibro patients for 17 years, and yes it is one of the worst illnesses ever-no doubt about it. But, there are always others who are less fortunate than we are. CANCER, especially terminal cancer-hard to imagine anything worse… I’ve watched a parent die to lung cancer-terrible, terrible death.

If you’re battling fibro and discouraged please don’t give up. You can reverse fibro-I didn’t say cure it, but reverse it. You can feel better. There are doctors who are having success treating and reversing fibro. You can get better, I know because I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with some of the toughest fibro cases over the last 17 years. Don’t give up.

Don’t Give Up by Bob Perks

Smiling woman and little girl A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, “Mom, let’s run through the rain,” she said. “What?” Mom asked.

“Let’s run through the rain!” She repeated.

“No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a bit,” Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated, “Mom, let’s run through the rain.”

“We’ll get soaked if we do,” Mom said.

“No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,” the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom’s arm.

“This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?”

“Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ‘If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!’”

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes. Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

“Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If God let’s us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,” Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories… So, don’t forget to make time and take opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.

I hope you still take the time to run through the rain.

I’d add that while fibro can take away so many things, good health, your social life, your ability to work, your marriage, and more, it can’t take away your greatest asset-your ability to mentally decide to keep going, to keep living, to keep fighting to do whatever it takes to get better, to be healthier.

Feel Good Again

If you are ready to change course, realizing the path you’re on isn’t working-doctors who don’t understand, drugs that don’t work, searching the Internet night after night hoping to find a “cure,”or trying new supplement after supplement rarely feeling any better-THEN don’t let another year of indecision slip past. Stop settling and start living. You can feel good again. New patient phone consults are 7. I can and do order blood work and other labs if needed and you can have these labs done in your hometown. I consult with patients around the world, by phone, and have helped thousands feel good again. Are you next? Call 205-879-2383 and speak with my new patient coordinator, Juno Thomason.

There plenty of things you can do on a fixed income. Please pardon my tone but I see you second post which paints me with the same brush as Big Pharma. I resent that. You can use the information, which is free, from my videos http://www.drmvideos.com and or from my book which you can get for less than $10 on Amazon and you can take the information and get healthier-costs nothing to do the elimination diet, clean up your diet, pennies a day to use melatonin and or 5htp to improve or correct sleep issues. I’m on your side, please don’t attack doctors or those trying to help, there are so few of us who really understand, much less care about fibro.
